Cookie Policy

Last updated: 2026-07-18

Cookies and localStorage are different browser technologies. This policy distinguishes how iGotTrip actually uses each one.

Cookies versus localStorage

A cookie is a small value stored by the browser for a domain and available to requests or scripts. localStorage is a separate site-controlled key-value store on this device and is not automatically attached to HTTP requests. iGotTrip stores the trip plan, memo, analytics choice, and explicit language choice in localStorage. A footer choice uses the igottrip:language key with en or ko and stays on this device until you choose another language or clear site storage. Root browser-language detection is transient and is not stored before an explicit footer choice. The first-party helper does not explicitly transmit its result, although GA4 may independently process browser language under the disclosure and consent behavior below. We do not promise a fixed list of Google cookie names because provider behavior and settings can change.

GA4 and Advanced Consent Mode

The Google Analytics 4 tag loads under Advanced Consent Mode with analytics storage set to denied by default. Before a choice, or after rejection, Google may receive cookieless measurement pings. Allowing analytics may enable analytics cookies and client or session identifiers. See Google's Consent Mode overview for the technical behavior.

Pre-review choice and conditional Google CMP

In the current pre-review mode, iGotTrip's analytics-specific choice panel remains active and the Google AdSense review bootstrap loads in the document head for account and site review. Google CMP and ad inventory are not enabled, and advertising storage signals remain denied. Google CMP becomes the choice owner on eligible content pages only if both features are enabled together after approval.

Changing or withdrawing a choice

In pre-review mode, use Privacy choices in any footer to allow, reject, or withdraw analytics. In post-approval mode, it reopens Google CMP on an eligible page; from an ad-free page it moves to the same-language home and then opens Google's European-regulations revocation choices. Google documents that revocation path for users shown a European regulations message in its official guidance.

A Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information message or link for applicable US states must be separately configured and published in the Google AdSense dashboard. The code alone does not prove that production publication or provide a universal regional opt-out. See the Google US state regulations guidance.

Browser controls

You can block or delete cookies and use tracking protection in browser settings. Use the footer language choice to replace the igottrip:language value. Clearing site storage also removes the trip plan, memo, analytics choice, and saved language, so the next root visit may detect browser language transiently again and the site may ask for an analytics choice. Some blocking features can affect analytics, advertising, or site behavior. Contact privacy@igottrip.com or read the Privacy Policy.

Allow anonymous analytics to help improve this trip budget tool? Advertising consent is not requested here.

Essential browser storage keeps your budget and privacy choice on this device.
